A downloadable game for Windows

Current version: Alpha demo 0.3.0.

Vampire Syndicate: Gangs of MoonFall is an old-school NSFW/adult cRPG set amidst the vampire-dominated gangs of a cyberpunk city. As a Familiar of one of the ancient vampire lineages, you have been tasked by your undead masters to expand their criminal empire.

If you play your cards right, that criminal empire may one day be yours; along with eternal youth and power beyond the imagining of mere humans.

Old-school cRPG

Vampire Syndicate is inspired by legendary cRPGs, but also seeks to add new features to the formula.

Traditional Features:

  • Nuanced character creation
  • Turn-based combat
  • Classes
  • Skill checks
  • Choice and Consequence
  • Hand-created isometric maps
  • Sprawling urban overworld
  • Customizable weapons and armor

Other features listed in detail below. As we are in pre-alpha, everything is subject to change.

Adult content

Vampires are inherently sexual creatures, and during the course of the game, the player will have ample opportunities for casual sex or pursue long-term romances. Expect explicit sexual content.

The Factions of MoonFall’s underworld

The vampires of MoonFall are different from the ones we may be used to. While all vampires are undead, immortal and must drink blood, how vampirism is spread and the array of powers (and weaknesses) a new vampire gains will vary depending on the lineage. Each lineage is, in effect, a different “species” of vampire.

The major vampire lineages have been fighting over control of the Uzakh Drucah, or the True Underworld, for many centuries - even millennia in some cases. Since MoonFall is one of the world’s largest, most populated and wealthiest cities, it is of little surprise that the lineages now focus their battles here.

Players will encounter both vampire and non-vampire factions, each with their own motivations and rivals in MoonFall’s complicated web of alliances.

Being a Familiar

The player will start off as a newly-initiated familiar to any vampire faction they wish. In order to rise in the dark hierarchy, they must curry favor with their new masters, accomplish great deeds, and otherwise prove themselves in the Uzakh Drucah.

The ultimate prize of the player’s undying service is to be reborn as a vampire. Immortal, powerful, and the ultimate predator masquerading as a human. Becoming a vampire can be achieved halfway through the game and will offer new gameplay mechanics.

Decide the fate of the Uzakh Drucah

Or do whatever you like. Vampire Syndicate offers players the chance to challenge the lineage elders for the right to rule the underworld… or the player could just make a name for themselves as a professional assassin, (or thief, or even skilled lover, etc).

Very little is forced on the player, and vampirism is not guaranteed. Even the main storyline is completely optional.

Main Storyline

For those who want to be fully immersed, Vampire Syndicate offers a lengthy main storyline that will plumb the depths of MoonFall and reveal the terrible origin of all vampires.

Additionally, the vampire lineage that the player chooses will alter story events, making each playthrough with a different lineage significantly different.

Crime pays

As the name suggests, the player’s main activity in Vampire Syndicate is to conduct criminal activities for their lineage faction. With the exception of a few rules, the player is offered complete freedom in how they go about this, and can take on missions or contracts as they wish.

Missions (such as heists or raids) take place on the overworld map. Players can encounter a variety of different groups, such as corporate officers with their protection retinue, mercenaries, street-level gangers, rival familiars, etc. Or visit new locations and faction headquarters.

Encounters can be benign, or they can result in violence. The choice is yours.

A thinking opponent

Vampire Syndicate does not seek to simulate so-called “living, breathing” RPG worlds. However, The main villain in the game will be an AI-controlled antagonist, reacting to the player's decisions with a degree of unpredictability.

This AI opponent is the other main force of agency in the game besides the player. It’s independent actions will change the relationships between factions, the power dynamic in the game world, and have a major impact on the main story.

Build your crew

Every Familiar needs a crew: a team of violent cutthroats, thieves, hackers and flamboyantly-dressed thugs. You won’t have to look far in the dark underbelly of MoonFall to find them.

Familiars often have dangerous duties, and they aren’t expected to complete them alone. A crew provides extra muscle for Familiars in combat, but also lends their expertise outside of fighting.

Recruiting and permadeath

Followers can be recruited all over MoonFall, in a variety of different classes and with different attributes. Each of the major lineages will also offer a follower class unique to their faction.

However, unlike the player character, followers can die permanently. If a follower falls in combat, they are dead forever, so be careful how you use them.

Loyalty

Followers are eager to help you rise through the ranks of the Uzakh Drucah, but they do not do this for free. Your crew expects to be rewarded aptly for watching your back, and failing to do so could have consequences.
Each crew member has a loyalty score that’s tied to how you treat them. Abuse and neglect may lead to them turning on you at the most inopportune moment.

Creating Familiars

When (or if) the player character becomes a full-fledged vampire, they may request for followers to be elevated to Familiars. Followers who are promoted this way can act independently, undertaking their own missions and generating passive Income and Respect for the player.

Respect

In the Uzakh Drucah, Respect is even more valuable than hard currency. Respect is a measure of how the player character is viewed in the dark hierarchy of the vampire lords.

The higher the Respect, the more options available to a player. Black market shops now open their doors to you, rival gangs begin to fear you, while your allies treat you as an honored guest.

With a high enough Respect, even a lowly Familiar can command the attention of elder vampires… or a vampire may seek to usurp power over their lineage.

Morality

Make no mistake, as a familiar you are a criminal. You work for sinister, loathsome “people.”

Your duties often require you to mete out violence and injustice. While you may certainly go about this according to your own morals and ethics, do not expect to be ever called a hero.

I finally got a PC and came to play this game.

Please don't abandoned this gem Dev

Craft it to a masterpiece

Game's not abandoned! I'm still working on it!

this still being worked on ?

Yes!

The kickstarter fell through so it's taking longer than expected.

Hello ! Just wondering when will the next update be since there is no update change in Patreon. Thank you !

Oh hi! I ran a kickstarter for this that failed in 2023, so I'm still updating this, just very slowly. In the meantime I'm working on a parody game that's a sequel to Memoirs. I'll make an itchio page for that one soon.

Oh wow, I found this game again

Will it be playable on joiplay atleast?

No idea, I don't know how joiplay operates. It'll probably be very difficult to play on mobile.

is this going to be the beginning of the game or is this just to show how the game is going to look and work?

Just the demo. I'm working on the actual start of the game, which will be included in the demo around June.

I see. thank you. I take it the characters in the demo will also be in the game? The three vampires in scene demo seemed to be quite interesting and well thought out.

yup, they'll be major characters

What's the update for?

Added a short combat tutorial

I'm curious how permadeath will effect our ability to enjoy the game. Don't get me wrong this is a great idea overall and regardless I think you should totally go for it as it makes the game more challenging and incentivizes the player to think things through but I am both curious and concerned. Will these be scripted allies or PCs we can recruit that will be randomly generated over time. On one hand this is a great idea but on the other hand it can also make the game Very unforgiving to a near sadistic degree. I guess what I'm saying is that I want to know if the potential difficulty will be balanced out somehow. Sorry if it seems like I'm nitpicking at this point.

There will be customizable difficulty and the easier modes will have it turned off.

The harder modes will have permadeath and a bunch of other difficulty modifiers that make it harder to heal.

Permadeath will affect all characters besides the player, since I don't currently have any plans for an iron man mode (single save file, wipes on player death).

If the player falls in battle, you'll have to restart combat.

Nice. Again thank you for answering my incessant questioning and prodding. That aside it's good to see that you put so much thought  not only into the game itself but to the people playing it. I'm the type who typically tries to get as much information as I can about a game before I finally decide to play it. Normally I'd have another 50 or so questions about it but I find the more I find out the more I'm looking forward to it. I even told a few friends about it. I hope you don't mind but I also pointed out your willingness to answer questions regarding the game to a few of them. And if I know them they'll be asking them fairly quickly. But that aside I better call it here before this goes from constructive questions to a rousing round of "are we there yet". It's already on my steam wish list and I look forward to it's release.

that said my own questions should lighten the load a bit as they like to read through comment sections...I hope that helps and sorry in advance if it's a bit much.

Nice. I am loving what I'm seeing and reading in the description. Liked the last game and this one seems to be a massive improvement to what is already a great series. My only concern may not be warranted but it needs to be said. This seems to be a very ambitious project. On one hand I'm overjoyed that the system from the last game seems to be getting a massive overhaul on the other hand this seems like a much bigger project. So I have to ask. Are you guys going to be ok developing this and when can we expect to play the first version/gameplay demo? If you can't answer the last part I'll understand but this does raise some concerns in some areas. Sorry for bringing them up but I can't help but be at least curious.

Hi! This is still a one person project, like the rest of my games (although I'm getting help from the super talented TORii).

If you played Memoirs, you know I have a tendency to be over ambitious. But I have complete confidence in the feasibility of this project. The only problem is funding it.

Look for a combat demo in March or April.

Thank you for your reply and you are correct. I love Memoirs and am overjoyed you are not only continuing but also expanding. You are also correct that I should know by now that your projects tend to be ambitious. I probably shouldn't worry too much I just got nervous when I saw how much more you were planning for this one already. That being said. You do very good work and I'm looking forward to the demo and also where you go from there. What you have planned so far seems like it's going to be even better than memoirs.

Thanks for the kind words!

Wow. So good.

Is it possible to play it online or in android soon?

Probably not android, this will likely be PC only

Sigh when will my dreams come true

Finally an interactive vampire game with combat, upgradable stats and powers, not to mention sexy times

I liked the concept of the game as described on this page. I liked fucking the girls in the demo... Or getting fucked by them i guess, that's a bit unclear. Mostly Min and Lore thouh if i'm honnest, ain't really fond of "the warrior".

But as far as the game goes there is not much going on, if anything. You wake up and fuck. End of the demo. I do understant however that it's a game in it's early stages and that it takes time.

On a side note Min eyes appear a deep/rich green colour on the avatar displayed when you talk to her, but a really light grey during sex.

Overall i have expectations for this game, but didn't get enough to even esteem it's quality.

Thanks! Story and combat demo is on its way.
